Koala Conservation Day: Seed sowing
December 17 @ 9:30 am - 2:30 pm$30
Sow the seeds that will go toward our “300,000 trees by 2030” target to save our koalas from extinction!
Every summer we prepare for our winter tree planting season by sowing and transplanting thousands of seeds that will eventually grow into koala trees, and we need your help! December-January is the best time to sow the seeds of our koala trees, plus it’s fun, easy, and everyone can help – no matter your age or ability!
Join us on a special summer edition of our Koala Conservation Days and be prepared to get your hands dirty. You will rotate through different tasks and enjoy a morning tea and lunch (BYO) break at the Koala Clancy Foundation Nursery HQ.
Our team will look after the baby trees in our nursery until they are mature enough to plant along rivers surrounding the You Yangs, so that our famous koala population can have a home in the face of climate change.
Seed sowing is very rewarding and requires no experience at all.
Seed sowing goes all day, and an optional koala walk in the Brisbane Ranges may be offered. Note: our koalas are all wild and untracked therefore there is no guarantee of a koala sighting.
