Koala Conservation Day: Seedling Transplanting 15 April 2023

April 15 @ 9:30 am - 2:30 pm

$30

Transplant the seedlings that will go toward our “300,000 trees by 2030” target to save our koalas from extinction!

Every summer we prepare for our winter tree planting season by sowing and transplanting thousands of seeds that will eventually grow into koala trees, and we need your help! February – April is the best time to transplant the seedlings sown in summer, plus it’s fun, easy, and everyone can help – no matter your age or ability!

Join us on a special edition of our Koala Conservation Days and be prepared to get your hands dirty. You will rotate through different tasks and enjoy a morning tea and lunch (BYO) break at the Koala Clancy Foundation Nursery HQ.

Our team will look after the baby trees in our nursery until they are mature enough to plant along rivers surrounding the You Yangs, so that our famous koala population can have a home in the face of climate change.

Seed transplanting is very rewarding and requires no experience at all.

Seed transplanting goes all day, and an optional koala walk in the Brisbane Ranges may be offered. Note: our koalas are all wild and untracked therefore there is no guarantee of a koala sighting.

This event is being run with the support of One Tree Planted.
