Koala Conservation Day- Seedling Transplanting
January 29 @ 9:00 am - 2:30 pm$30
Help us to transplant seedlings for the future of koalas! It is time to start transplanting seedlings planted 6/7 weeks earlier. Seeds planted earlier in Summer have now germinated and need to be transplanted into individual pots to grow stronger.
During this activity, you will be given the chance to rotate through different tasks: washing pots, filling pots with soil & transplanting seedlings of our koala trees for the year: River Red Gums, Grey Box & Red Box gum trees.
Our team will look after them until they are big enough to be planted by our volunteers in the winter months (June, July & August) around a river near the You Yangs, so that Koala babies can have a home!
Join us on a special edition of our Koala Conservation Days and be prepared to get your hands dirty. It’s fun and easy, and everyone can help – no matter how old you are!
We allow 1.5 to 2 hours for this activity, which will be followed by a visit to the Brisbane Ranges with a guide to look for koalas.
