Koala Tree Planting 2 August
August 2 @ 9:30 am - 2:00 pm
THIS EVENT IS BOOKED OUT
Help us save the wild koalas of the You Yangs, Brisbane Ranges and Melbourne’s Western Plains.
We will be plant specially-chosen native trees to create habitat for wild koalas.
UPDATE due to Coronavirus: This activity may change. If restrictions are still in place our groups are small (max 20 at any time), transport options are limited to travel in your own car*, and we have created some social distance boundaries on the day. We are no longer providing use of shared binoculars or gardening gloves, and all participants must bring a reusable drinking cup if they want coffee or tea.
Participants will be planting trees in the outdoors. You will be given guidance by a leader, but you will be allocated patches to plant in a small team of 10. Morning tea and lunch will be conducted sitting on steps, seats and on the lawn (weather permitting) at a distance from each other.
We allow 1.5 to 2 hours to plant trees for koalas, which occurs on private properties throughout the region. This property is far from the You Yangs, so there will be a nature walk after planting, but we might not see koalas.
