SUMMARY:KOALA CONSERVATION DAY: Seed Sowing for Koala Habitat
DESCRIPTION:Do you want to be a part of the first step to creating wild koala habitat? Join us to sow seeds for the future of wild koalas. \n\n\n\n\n \nEvery spring and summer we begin preparations for our upcoming tree planting season by sowing and transplanting thousands of seeds that will eventually grow into koala trees\, and we need your help! It’s fun\, easy\, outdoors\, and everyone can help – no matter your age or ability! \nJoin us on a special summer edition of our Koala Conservation Days and be prepared to get your hands dirty. You will rotate through different tasks and enjoy a morning tea (provided) and lunch (BYO) at the Koala Clancy Foundation Nursery. \nOur team will look after the baby trees in our nursery until they are mature enough to plant in our habitat projects that are making a better future for koalas possible. \nThis activity is very rewarding and requires no experience at all. \nON THE DAY – You will arrive at the meeting location\, the Anakie General Store\, where you will be greeted by a Koala Clancy Foundation team member. You can grab a coffee and use the bathrooms before we promptly depart at 9:30am (please arrive at least 5 minutes early). From here\, the group will drive in convoy to the activity location. \nAny questions\, contact info@koalaclancyfoundation.org.au \nFAQs \nHow much does this event cost? \nLocals (Victorian residents): $30 adults\, $20 children/student/concession (Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult) \nTourists: $120 * \nThis is a subsidised event intended to educate locals (Victorian residents). Ticket prices do not cover costs\, but are subsidised to encourage locals. We welcome international and interstate visitors but ask that they pay the true cost of the experience\, so that koalas get the maximum benefit from their visit. \nKoala Clancy Foundation is a not-for-profit\, fully registered charity. We do not get government grants to cover our costs. The locations we spend the day in are behind locked gates\, often some distance from parked cars. You must be ready at the meeting point at the meeting time\, and be willing to finish with the rest of the group at around 2.30pm \nWhat should I bring? \nDrinking water\, a hat\, packed lunch\, keep-cup for coffee or tea\, gardening gloves\, sunscreen and insect repellent. \nCan I participate more than once? \nYes! We encourage volunteers to participate in as many conservation days as they can! \nIf you are planning on coming multiple times consider becoming a member of the Koala Clancy Foundation. This entitles you to unlimited participation in the conservation days for the year as well as access to special member-only events. \nMembership prices: Adult $100\, Family $200\, Student $50. One adult per child please. \nCan I bring my dog/cat/pet? \nNo\, absolutely not. Pets are not permitted at Koala Clancy Foundation events. Your pet can’t remain in your car as you will not be close by.
