Our president, Janine Duffy, will be the nominated representative to the committee.

The National Koala Recovery Team has been created to assist in implementing the National Recovery Plan for the Koala. The plan can be found here: https://www.dcceew.gov.au/environment/biodiversity/threatened/publications/recovery/koala-2022
Though the plan is written for the koalas of Queensland, New South Wales and the ACT, delegates from Victoria and South Australia were encouraged to apply to join the community advisory committee, and delegates from Victorian and South Australian governments are on the Recovery Team Board. Aspects of the plan will apply to Victorian koalas. It is a national plan.
The committee will meet twice a year. Other members of the committee include universities, local government, koala conservation and advocacy groups, landcare and friends groups, and large and small environmental NGOs.
We hope to use this opportunity to speak up for koalas in Victoria, and bring our knowledge and experience in community tree planting to the plan.
