Get outdoors with your team in the You Yangs, 45 minutes west of Melbourne. 

Koala Clancy Foundation is a local Melbourne charity with a mission to help Melbourne & Geelong people save their local koalas from climate change.

Saving koalas is physical and educational and suitable for all ages and abilities.

This project will instil pride in your team, and will show results very fast. Your group can make an impact.

Saving koalas is possible and simple – trees planted in the rivers and waterways will be large enough to feed koalas in just 5 years.

Where: The You Yangs Regional Park and private farms in the You Yangs region
most sites are 45 minutes west of Melbourne CBD.

When: All year. Weekdays, weekends & public holidays available.
Koala Tree Planting: June to August every year
Weed removal & educational koala walks: all year (best time September to May).
Times: flexible, generally we recommend a start time of 9am, finish by 2pm.

Group size: recommended for minimum of 10 participants and maximum of 30 participants. Larger groups can be accommodated by visiting two sites in one day.

Inclusions: One experienced Koala Clancy Foundation supervisor throughout. Morning tea and lunch can be provided. Transport from a central pickup location to the site/s can be provided.

What happens on the day:

Koala Tree Planting (June to August): An introduction by the Koala Clancy Foundation supervisor, then transport to the planting site. Briefing on tree planting techniques & safety. Tree planting for 1.5 to 2 hours. Morning tea. Transport to the You Yangs. Educational koala walks for 1 hour. Lunch. Conclusion.

Weed Removal (September to May): An introduction by the Koala Clancy Foundation supervisor, then transport to the weeding site. Briefing on weeding techniques & safety. Weeding for 1.5 hours. Morning tea. Educational koala walks for 1 to 1.5 hours. Lunch. Conclusion.

Price: from $80 per person to $125 per person, dependent on group size and inclusions.

Get Great Photos!

YES,  YOU too can get great photos of Wild Koalas and other wildlife behaving normally - if you follow the rules we use  -

  • We NEVER go too close to take our photos!

  • We all use cameras with good zooms and often get great results

 - as you can see from some of the photos on Koala Clancy's own Facebook Page taken by our koala researchers, guides and many by our volunteers and guests.

We stay quiet and still and watch for a while ...  and Koalas will often check you out and then go back to what they normally do.    And so do many of our other wildlife!
